What's new in DbVisualizer 25.1?

DbVisualizer 25.1 brings support for DynamoDB, the new Files tab for more convenient handling of SQL scripts,
significant security improvements,a major performance boost to references graphs, and more.

Support for Amazon DynamoDB

This release introduces support for DynamoDB, a serverless NoSQL database from Amazon. You'll be able to explore tables, partition and sort keys, local and global indexes, view and edit table data including maps, sets and attributes with mixed content, and execute PartiQL scripts using SQL Commander.

10x faster references graphs

Building on the groundwork done in the previous feature release, the improved database metadata cache speeds up various functionality throughout the application including Query Builder, Navigator, References, Data tabs, and more.

The exact performance impact will depend on your schema, database type and network configuration, but you shouldn’t be surprised if your references graphs are displayed at least 10x times faster.

Improved database support

This release adds basic database support for DuckDB and QuestDB. You will find pre-defined entries for both databases in the driver manager, making it easy to get started.

In addition to the many already supported object types, stream, tasks and alerts are now available in the database objects tree when working with Snowflake.

Improved encryption and data security

DvVisualizer's working continuously to make sure your database connections and other settings are stored securely.

In this release, they've re-architected the way sensitive data is managed in DbVisualizer and improved encryption to further strengthen the protection of your passwords in storage. This affects both local and exported application settings, independent of whether you're using the master password feature or not.

Features

Powerful SQL editor

Modern SQL coding. With the help of intelligent autocomplete, visual query builders, variables and much more, we are able to let users spend less time on mundane coding tasks, and more time on actual problem solving.

Security built-in

DbVisualizer is built to meet rigorous security standards. Set up encryption for all data that goes to and from the application, set user permissions to avoid alteration of sensitive data, and enforce strong local passwords. All are configurable directly in DbVisualizer.

Universal database management

Works with all your databases. You’ll be able to connect to the most popular data sources and work with their custom object types directly in the client. You’ll also find tools for database visualisation and optimisation, helping you work smarter and faster.

Configurable to fit your workflow

Make it yours. You can fully control window layouts, key bindings, UI themes, mark scripts, and database objects as "favourite" for quick access or even work outside of DbVisualizer with the command-line interface. You're in full control.

Simple data management

Harness the power of SQL with the simplicity of a spreadsheet. With simple query tools, inline data editing, and powerful exports you have everything you need to manage your data with fewer queries and with full control.
