FMX Linux for Delphi 12.3 is now available
News|by Leanne Bevan|20 May 2025

Embarcadero‘s re-released the FMX Linux UI library for Delphi 12.3, as well as for Delphi 12.2 and earlier versions.
What is FMX Linux and why should you use it?
FMX Linux extends the FireMonkey (FMX) cross-platform framework, enabling you to build GUI applications for Linux using the same codebase and UI controls used for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. This reduces development time and maintenance overhead as it also simplifies debugging, testing, and feature rollouts.
The library uses GTK under the hood to render native-looking applications on Linux desktops. This ensures your apps feel integrated with the Linux environment. You can use Delphi’s powerful Object Pascal language, RAD (Rapid Application Development) tools, and visual designers to build Linux GUI apps—without needing to learn a new language or framework.
This release follows a period of uncertainty after the original author of FMX Linux, Eugene, sadly passed away. Embarcadero has since reached a new licensing agreement with his heirs, allowing continued distribution of the library. Embarcadero’s goal is to maintain the long-term availability of this UI library for Delphi developers.
The library is now available via the GetIt Package Manager for RAD Studio 12.x and older. It supports RAD Studio and Delphi Enterprise and Architect customers with active subscriptions.
