Microsoft Price Changes for 2023 Announced
News|by Alanna|12 January 2023
Microsoft has confirmed that from 1 April 2023, it will be aligning its cloud pricing globally to the US dollar (USD).
The pricing alignments will result in the following price changes per region:
- British Pound (GBP) prices will adjust +9%
- Euro (EUR), Danish Krone (DKK) and Norwegian Krone (NOK) prices will adjust +11%
- Swedish Krone (SEK) prices will adjust +15%
Which licences will this affect?
These changes will affect Microsoft 365 pricing and any customer subscribing to Azure on a PAYGO subscription directly with Microsoft. Azure pricing on CSP has already been aligned to the US dollar via the New Commerce Experience (NCE) and will be unaffected.
How will price changes work in the future?
Microsoft has committed to assessing pricing in local currency aligned to USD twice a year.
When did Microsoft last align its prices to the USD?
The last time Microsoft adjusted its pricing to USD was in August 2015 (EUR) and January 2017 (GBP).
As the economic situation has changed around the world there have been changes to the exchange rate compared to the USD. Microsoft has previously deferred aligning pricing with exchange rate fluctuations but is changing this as of 1 April 2023.
