Now Available: InstallShield 2018

Flexera Software have announced the latest release of InstallShield, a tool used for installing software for Microsoft Windows desktop and server platforms. In addition the tool can be used to manage software apps and packages on a range of devices.
The update comes with the follow new features and enhancements:
New Features
InstallShield can defend against Apache Struts 2 and other known Open Source Software (OSS) vulnerabilities. OSS components are identified within your project through one, quick automated scan. This will enable you to understand your license obligations and make informed ship/no-ship decisions.
Enhancements
Windows Installer (MSI) Installations make it quicker and easier to create Windows Installer (MSI) installations with advanced support for SQL databases. Benefit from enhanced options within IIS view (InstallShield 2018 Premier and Professional versions only), XML editing and much more within the intuitive, graphical development environment.
There are better Custom Bootstrappers to Bundle Universal Windows Platform App Packages, and MSI Installers. Plus there are even more Suite/ Advanced UI installations bundle Universal Windows Platform app packages, MSI installers, EXE setups, Web Deploy packages and more into a single installer for simple installation by your customers. The enhancements within InstallShield 2018 provide additional control for suite installation authors. Installers can be bundled with their dependencies, server configuration tasks, PowerShell scripts, and all of the required components of a complex installation.
