Bing Maps powers new LinkedIn Commute Feature
News|14 June 2018
The Microsoft Bing Maps Platform Team have added a new geospatial feature to the LinkedIn mobile experience, “Your Commute”. The new feature allows users to see what the commute time is for a chosen job posting.
LinkedIn “Your Commute” is built with several Bing Maps APIs including Autosuggest, Geocoding, Routing, and Maps, and helps users calculate their potential commute time to the new job they are considering.
Bing Maps supports multiple travel modes, so commute time from your location to the potential job can be calculated for car, public transportation, or even walking. The Bing Maps predictive traffic data also takes into account rush hour traffic, giving job seekers another data point to consider when selecting their next job.
