Android 32-bit Extension for Delphi and C++Builder customers
Blog|by Leanne Bevan|24 July 2019

From 1 August 2019, new applications and updates in the Google Play Store must support 64-bit. Embarcadero is working on providing this support in RAD Studio. However, on an app-by-app basis, the Google Play Store team will consider extensions to the 64-bit requirement for Delphi and C++Builder customers.
To ensure your app is accepted, you’ll need to submit a request for an extension after following the usual Google Play Store steps for publishing within the Console.
Only app updates to existing 32-bit apps will be considered for the extension. New 32-bit Android apps will not be accepted – so it is suggested that you submit these as soon as possible, before the deadline.
So how do you request an extension?
- Visit https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/contact/publishing
- Fill out the form and select ‘I submitted a new app or app update but it is not live’
- In the feedback field, state that your app was built with Embarcadero Delphi or C++Builder, and that you’d like to request an extension to the 64-bit requirement
